My semester ended Wednesday at 11:03 AM. I completed my last final and everything else on my laundry list of school chores. I am thrilled that I can take a deep breath now that I did well this semester. I am a senior at Weber State University getting a Degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Human Resource Management. My very last semester will start in January, and I will graduate May 1st, 2009!
I have just accepted an internship with Flying J Corporate in the Human Resource department. I heard about the internship at school one day because two other students were talking about going in for an interview. I decided that I wanted the internship and started the process to steal it from them. I work for a sister company of Flying J- Transportation Alliance Bank, so when I arrived at work I quickly sent an email with my resume to the VP of HR asking about the internship.
And of course I won! I interviewed and was offered the internship that will start Jan 5th. I am supper excited to try something new, and to have real experience to put on a resume. But, I am sad to leave the comfort of my job. I know a lot at the bank, and can solve a lot of problems. I like to be needed, and valued for my knowledge. I also currently work in the same building as my best friend and it will be hard to not be able to walk over to here when I need a break. The internship will be in a different building with completely different people.
Things are changing a lot right now and I am focused on my positive outlook and trust that everything will work out best.
